this is a VERY SAD DAY......trinidad is sickening place..... sad to say
crime is rampant, and racism is alive and vibrant... its like trinidad now is equal to the 1970's... patrick manning is a dictator... that is corrupt and the pnm's victory only means more chaos and turbulence for the next 5 yrs.... i feel really sorry for the people of trinidad and tobago...

3 issues
1. crime and the government's inability to get a grip on it... seems like the pnm government encourages crime
2. drugs.
3. economy

sad sad sad day for trinidad and tobago

WATER, WATER, WATER.

Having enough in the dry season for everyone.
Minimising flood damage to people and crops.

Try googling Trinidad + water + "failure to thrive"

I no longer have access to the full article, but basically it says, it's not race or income that separates us it is access to clean, safe drinking water.

The 3 major issues affecting our country at present are as follows:

1) The attitude and ineptitude of the Manning led PNM government.

2) See No.1

3) See No.1

Uttian...UTT does have that over UWI. But as you said, it will not change overnight. I am not holding my breath as the Trini mentality will quicker infiltrate UTT than the J.Hopkins mentality or the the UT mentality. Eventually, these respected Universities will want to wash their hands of UTT as is what happened with UWI.

UWI has ruined the lives of many as I have seen. Many of their graduates cannot perform in their jobs when they work overseas.

Maybe if UTT was kept out of politics then it would prosper. Not like UWI where the gov't mandates that they take in more students while there is no room for them to sit in some lecture halls.

Randy, once you are not from a US University they make you do the supplemental courses.I(espcially form the Caribbean)...but unlike UWI ...UTT are directly linked with U of Texas, U of Houston.John Hopkins.....and many top universities in the US and UK ...so eventully there will certainly be smoother transitions through our doors...the recognition factor is a major problem many local students face but what are we to do cry about it ???..of course not..we have to start somewhere and from then on the onus is on us to raise the bar....we cannot change those things that were there for decades overnight...
...with all being said UWi still messed around with lives of many ..who cares anyway..better days are ahead!
